In repeated 3-hour blockades on the Ioannina-Kakkavia national road at the height of the Kalpaki junction, the farmers marched today ahead of tomorrow’s pan-Hellenic mobilization in Athens.

Farmers line up tractors vertically on the national road, as a result of which queues are created for trucks to and from the border station of Kakkavia, but also to Konitsa. For cars n Traffic police also took measures to divert traffic on bypass roads. In the morning, many trucks destined for Greece, stopped on the Albanian side of the border, until the blockade of the road stopped and crossed the border at 13:00, when the farmers opened the road. At this time they have been closed with tractors and bypass roads, while they are expected to open after 10:30 in the evening. The farmers decided to close the national road at the same point, in Kalpaki, from 10 in the morning until late at night. The road will be opened for one hour at noon for school buses to pass.

The farmers of Thesprotia, who have lined up the tractors on the 1st kilometer of Egnatia in the entry stream for the external port of Igoumenitsa, continue the 3-hour blockades of the road every day, as a result of which queues are created for delivery trucks traveling to Italy. Tonight they will be closed from 20:00 to 23:00

Farmers from all 4 Prefectures of Epirus will arrive in Athens tomorrow by cars and buses.
