A 34-year-old woman who had turned her home into a beauty clinic and possessed illegal pharmaceuticals was arrested last Wednesday in Thessaloniki.

According to the announcement of the Hellenic Police, 106 pharmaceutical preparations were found in the home-beauty clinic, among others, some of which, according to the EOF, belong to the category of counterfeit drugs as they are either not approved, or contain growth hormone and are in the category of of anabolic steroids, or have not been made available through the legal supply chain.

A lawsuit was filed against the 34-year-old for harmful drugs and counterfeiting of a medical procedure.

The announcement of the Hellenic Police states:

A 34-year-old citizen was arrested on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the area of ​​Thessaloniki, by the Sub-Directorate of the Economic Police of Northern Greece, as he was in possession of illegal pharmaceutical preparations.

The defendant’s action arose after complaints to the National Transparency Authority, for the investigation of which a mixed team was formed consisting of police officers from the Tax Policing and Insurance Protection Department of the Economic Police Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece, together with inspectors from the National Transparency Authority.

In this context, it was established that the defendant had set up a home in a beauty clinic, while from the investigation carried out -among other things- the following were found and confiscated:

  • 106- pharmaceutical preparations,
  • 9,920- euros
  • and handwritten notes.

According to the National Medicines Organization, part of the confiscated pharmaceutical products belong to the category of counterfeit drugs as they are either not approved, or contain growth hormone and are in the category of anabolics, or have not been distributed through the legal supply chain. The authenticity of the remaining preparations is being investigated.

The case filed for harmful drugs and counterfeiting of a medical procedure was submitted to the competent prosecuting authority.
