In response to recent publications on the appointment at a NHS clinic and about how one can book them, the Minister of Health A.Georgiadis with his post on the X platform clarifies that “access to health services and the possibility of “booking” appointments with doctors in Greece has been significantly simplified through various online services, offering free access to medical services’.

In fact, he emphasizes that “in its context digital transition, the Ministry of Health has taken the initiative to integrate all appointment “closing” procedures into a single application, with the aim of simplifying and improving citizen service. This development seeks to make access to health services more immediate, flexible and transparent, ensuring that every citizen can manage their medical needs in the most efficient way.”

As mentioned in the same post, every citizen who is registered with a personal doctor can easily visit the platform: http://finddoctors.gov.gr/p-appointment/#/patients/main-menu, to book their appointment without no charge. “This process ensures that the visit to the personal physician, as well as further referral to a physician of any specialty, if required, is completely free and easily accessible,” he points out.

In addition, as the Minister of Health writes, citizens have the possibility to make appointments at Health Centers throughout the country, through the same service (https://finddoctors.gov.gr/p-appointment/#/patients/search-appointment) , ensuring immediate and easy access to free medical services.

“Recognizing the need for wider access, the ministry also provides the possibility of free appointments with doctors contracted with EOPYY, through the platform: https://gov.gr/ipiresies/ugeia-kai-pronoia/episkepse-kai-noseleia-se -nosokomeio/diathesimoteta-rantebou-me-giatrous-tou-eopuu, enhancing transparency and accessibility to medical services”, he adds.

For those who wish to visit Regular Outpatient Clinics or Afternoon Clinics, the platform: https://1535.gr offers another option for making a free appointment, noting that visits to Regular Outpatient Clinics are free, while visits to Afternoon Clinics entail costs, explains A. Georgiadis.
