The Autophorous Single-Member Misdemeanor Court of Heraklion recently issued a conviction for two cases of parents accused of keep their children away from school for too long as a result of which the competent services have been mobilized and we have had the arrests of the fathers.
The first case concerns 43 years old father of many children, who was found guilty and fined six months imprisonment and 500 daily units for 1 euro per day, with a three-year suspension.
The 43-year-old has four children, in elementary and high school. He claims that he sends them to school, but the school does not accept them because they do not wear masks and do not do rapid tests due to health problems.
In the second case o Daddy of a high school student was sentenced to five months imprisonment and 200 daily units for 10 euros per day, also with suspension.
He claimed that the child did not want to go to school and he does not want to suppress it.
The headquarters sent a strong message to the two fathers, warning them to change their attitude and send the children to their schools as what is happening is a form of abuse that will force them to inform the competent juvenile prosecutor and even remove the children. if they are forced and if this is deemed necessary.
Both dads appealed the decision at first instance.
