He was found guilty yesterday by the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Volosa 40-year-old Voliotis resident abroad, for violence against an employee and threat and was sentenced to 12 months in prison with suspension, for three cases of threat and resistance that he presented during his arrest.

It all happened on January 1, 2021 at 7 am, in Volos, when the accused caused terror and concern by threatening a man in the street, screwdriver which he held.

He also allegedly tried to attack a 44-year-old police officer with the screwdriver and injure him in the face and chest, but he avoided him and escaped injury.

In the afternoon of the same day, the 40-year-old was spotted by policemen in S. Ionia, and to avoid arrest he pushed two policemen away with his hands while one of them threw him to the ground and threatened them.

The defendant, who currently lives and works in Germany, presented himself in Court, he denied the charge that he terrorized and tried to hit the policeman with a screwdriver, saying he was taking his child to school, the day after Epiphany.
He was eventually acquitted of attempted grievous bodily harm (resisting) with intent and was convicted for violence against an employee and menacing.
