The police have made 2 arrests
It is recorded on video episode which occurred at noon on Thursday with Maccabi Tel Aviv fans in Syntagma Square – where they had gathered a few hours before the match against Olympiakos – resulting in injury to a person who threw an object at them.
According to a police announcement, a single incident took place at noon today, when fans of the visiting team while moving in Syntagma Square were verbally attacked by two foreigners, who also proceeded to throw an object at them. An incident ensued between a supporter of the visiting team and one of the two foreigners resulting in his injury, who was taken to a hospital for first aid.
The police note that there was an immediate intervention by the police forces that prevented further incidents and two people were brought in while a preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Attica Security Directorate.
At the same time, it is reported that in the context of the Olympiacos-Maccabi Tel Aviv football match, the fans of the visiting team arrived in Athens. “The Greek Police, implementing a special plan to prevent incidents and their involvement with fans of Greek teams, led them, after relevant framing, to the Kallimarmaro Stadium and after a new check to the Karaiskakis Stadium”, it is characteristically underlined.
