Hanami, a Japanese confectionery, reopens at a new address in Pinheiros

Hanami confectionery, specializing in Japanese desserts, has a new address in Pinheiros. The house, opened four years ago in Tatuapé, in the east zone of São Paulo, had been temporarily closed in September.

The sweet shop is run by pastry chef Cesar Yukio, who designs the dessert menu at restaurants such as Kinoshita, Jojo Ramen and Eat Asia, and presents yogashi, a confectionery that is an adaptation of international pâtisserie to the Japanese palate, with light and delicate sweets .

One of the new features of the reopening is the purupuru nekô (R$30), a vanilla pudding with red fruit syrup in the shape of a kitten that, because it’s so cute, sways — the dessert is a hit on social media.

Another new option is the pistachio fusion (R$30), a pistachio bavaroise with red fruit syrup covered in pistachio chocolate.

One of the house’s flagship products, choux cream, a sweet of French origin that is popular in Japan, has been available in pistachio flavors with red fruits and yuzu, a citrus fruit, with prices ranging from R$25 to R$27.

Among the cakes sold by the slice, the matcha cake with whipped cream and red fruits, for R$30, and the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and strawberries, for R$28, are popular.

Savory delicacies are also served, such as tamagosando (R$ 35), a Japanese sandwich made with shokupan (fluffy milk bread) stuffed with egg cream, ham, cheese and salad.
