A 25-year-old found an ingenious way to hide quantities of cocaine in eastern Thessaloniki.

The authorities of the General Affairs Department of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate arrested 25 years old as, following a search carried out at his home in the area of ​​Pylaia, two nylon packages containing cocaine with a total weight of 59.3 grams, two precision electronic scales and an empty nylon bag were found and confiscated, which were carefully hidden inside a battery truck that had been configured accordingly, remaining fully functional.

Also confiscated were a screwdriver and a socket wrench, which were found at the site and were used to open the battery, as well as the a sum of 3,500 euros as proceeds from drug trafficking, which was found hidden inside a kettle.

Finally, in the possession of the arrested person, the sum of (300) euros was found and confiscated as coming from drug trafficking and a mobile phone that he used for his illegal transactions.

Also, from the afternoon of 03-06-2024 until the early hours of today (12-03-2024), the authorities arrested, in various areas of the city, another 44 people, against whom criminal charges were filed for violation of the Law on addictive substances.

Those arrested were taken to the competent judicial authorities.
