An article included in the Ministry of Health’s bill entitled “Public health actions – Arrangements to strengthen the National Health System” provides for the granting of insurance capacity to those who have arrears, overdue or confirmed debts up to the amount of 100 euros in the e-EFKAK , in order to also have access to private health providers, doctors, diagnostic centers and private clinics.

It is recalled that, in accordance with the current legislation, in order to be granted insurance capacity and, by extension, coverage of medical care and free prescriptions in private sector structures as well, e-EFKA insured persons must either have fully paid their insurance contributions, or to have settled any overdue debts and to pay the installments stipulated by the respective regulation without fail.

Debts that exceed the amount of one hundred (100) euros, must be paid in one go or settled in partial payments by the insured, in order to continue enjoying the privileges of the insurable capacity.

It is pointed out that no citizen is left without coverage for his medical and hospital care, even if he does not have insurance capacity, as long as he can use the structures of the National Health System for free, while special provisions exist for special groups of our fellow citizens such as children up to 18 years of age , residents of areas affected by natural disasters, etc.
