A prison officer and a private were arrested in the morning by the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces. The first is accused of drug trafficking, following the orders of prisoners, while the second for supplying him with drugs.
In order to investigate the case, a relevant complaint was filed, while a special operational team was set up. Last night, Sunday, March 24, the correctional officer was spotted procuring narcotic substances and tablets from the private individual, which he tried to import into a detention center.
Internal Affairs officers arrested the defendants and charged them with the relevant offenses of dereliction of duty and the complicit drugs act.
Among other things, 11.2 grams of cannabis and 53 tablets falling under the Narcotics Act were found and confiscated from the searches carried out.
Those arrested are taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
