The municipality of Athens is implementing a program to upgrade the city’s sidewalks, as part of its strategy for accessibility for all. According to the data of the Directorate of Road Construction, Sewerage and Common Areas of the municipality, from the beginning of the year until March 10, sidewalks with a total area of 4,951 sq.m. have been upgraded and reconstructed, the reconstruction of 3,410 sq.m. has been completed. of public spaces and squares and the danger of sidewalks and road surfaces has been removed, with an area of 1,026 sq.m., with local interventions.
In detail, regarding the upgrade-reconstruction of sidewalks:
- Dicarchou Street: Completed: 584 sq.m. Remaining to be completed: 381 sq.m. The project in progress.
- Sofokleous Street: Completed: 1,245 sq.m. Remaining to be completed: 190 sq.m. The project in progress.
- Phaedrou Street: Completed project: 249 sq.m.
Regarding the regeneration of public areas-squares:
