Past and present were involved in a “hot” incident in the town of Agios Nikolaos early Tuesday morning and it is fortunate that the incident did not end tragically as shots were fired.

In particular, a 57-year-old man faces her accusation attempted murder as he allegedly shot twice at a 51-year-old man, who was his partner’s ex. And he may have fired aimed shots, as reported, he did not find a human target and thus the worst was averted. The 51-year-old had already turned his back and was running away after previously hitting the 57-year-old on the head with an object, probably a piece of wood.

It is alleged that he had set up a carter after waiting for the 57-year-old to leave his house early in the morning to go to work. A lane further down, took him by surprisehit him on the head and put him on his feet.

Then the 57-year-old, who had a gun on him, opened fire on the 51-year-old.

Video from a security camera, which recorded the scene, is highly illuminating. Initially, the 57-year-old reportedly claimed that the 51-year-old was the one who fired the shots, but that was not borne out by the investigation. Therefore, the 57-year-old faces the charge of attempted murder, while he was taken to the hospital for first aid, while the 51-year-old who is escaping faces the charge of dangerous bodily harm.
