Outdoor activities such as rafting in Voidomatis in Epirus or hiking in Meteora and the Greek islands were presented at a special event in London
Greece as an ideal destination for “adventure” tourism was the focus of this year’s event – dinner of the British Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (ATAS), held in London.
It was the first time that EOT participated in this event (ATAS Leaders’ Dinner 2024), which brought together 50 owners and top executives of specialized tos, such as Trailfinders, Advantage Travel Partnership, Audley Travel, Barrhead Travel, Cosmos & Globus, G Touring , Intrepid, Newmarket Holidays and Jules Verne, as well as important travel agencies in the country, such as Not Just Travel, Travel Club Elite, Intele Travel and Designer Travel.
During the event, dishes with Greek flavors were offered, while the head of the UK and Ireland EOT Service, Eleni Skarveli, gave an interview to the editor-in-chief of the “Travel Weekly” magazine, Lucy Huxley, in which she presented outdoor activities that can be implemented throughout the year both in mainland Greece (rafting in Voidomatis in Epirus, hiking in Meteora or Mainalo in the Peloponnese) and in the Greek islands (coasteering in Kefalonia etc.).
Also, many business contacts were made with representatives of the British adventure tourism market, who showed a keen interest in new Greek destinations that can be included in their offer packages, especially during the spring and autumn to extend the tourist season for Greece.
