It starts tomorrow Wednesday, May 22, 2024the implementation of a specialized vocational training program in hairdressing, of a total duration of 250 hours, at Malandrino Penitentiaryfor 20 prisoners.

The Lifelong Learning Center of Lamia is responsible for implementing the program Public Employment Service (DYPA).

The educational programs of DYPA aim, among other things, at the vocational training of vulnerable population groups, which are threatened with exclusion from the labor market. The specific program is part of the cooperation framework of DYPA with the General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, with the aim of acquiring skills of prisoners in professional fields that are in demand in the labor market, so that they can reintegrate into society and the labor market, after their release from prison.

Upon completion of the program, the beneficiaries will be able to organize and operate a barbershop, understand the wishes of customers, perform the necessary tasks of men’s haircuts, hair dyeing and traditional shaving and beard care, using appropriate hairdressing tools, to organize the warehouse and sort stock of materials, summarize the basic principles of health and safety in the workplace, cooperate and adopt exemplary professional behavior.
