The announcement
The Panathinaikos Sports Club announces the renewal of its cooperation with coach Dragan Nesic for the next two years for the Club’s women’s volleyball department.
The Serbian coach will continue to be at the helm of the shamrock women’s volleyball team for the next two seasons. Nesic declared that he was happy with winning the Championship as well as with the renewal of his partnership with Panathinaikos.
In detail what he said on www.pao1908.com he said:I would like to thank Panathinaikos for the continuation of our cooperation. I found a special connection at Panathinaikos with both the team and the administration. There is clearly pressure in the big teams and it’s something I like. After Italy and Turkey it is very different to be in a Club with many sports, it is really different and special. When you win everything is easy but when you lose it is important to have support. They led us to rally and win the championship. I am happy with the reaction of the team even though I have been here for more or less 40 days. Of course, the experience of our athletes also helped.
I am very happy with the gymnasts who renewed for the new season. As you know we have made transfers, some of them are young but quality athletes. The season will be difficult for us as well as for the other teams. Carcasses and Atkinson who were very experienced athletes left but their place will also be taken by quality players and we will work to achieve our goals. Panathinaikos is a big club and that’s why the goals are always high.
It’s the first time I’ve met such fans. They supported us significantly to reach the championship and I thank them. I want us to fight every game and play with heart and strength. I want the team to give their best in every match.
Finally, I am happy that we will continue with the same staff. They are all professionals and coped excellently with the difficulties we had to face as well as with injuries and I thank them very much».
