The rainy weather this Sunday (26th) did not put an end to the Taste Festival, which takes place in Villa-Lobos Park, in the west of the city. Visitors took advantage of the cold to try the dishes and desserts available, in addition to the experiences offered by the event.
According to Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology), thermometers would not exceed 16°C, which could make it the coldest day of the year in the capital of São Paulo so far. Throughout the afternoon, it was necessary to seek shelter in the Taste tents or wear raincoats distributed at the event door, as entry with an umbrella is not permitted.

Among Sunday’s highlights is the class by chef Onildo Rocha, from Abaru, at the Fire Pit space. He taught a recipe for grilled rubacão, a typical dish from ParaÃba — the state in which he was born. For dessert, it was possible to get your hands dirty and learn how to make tiramisù with chef Izabela Dolabela, at Papo de Cozinha.
In this edition, 31 houses run by great chefs, selected by gastronomic consultant Luiz Américo Camargo, will meet until June 9, from Friday to Sunday, at Villa-Lobos. A Sheet is a partner of the event and subscribers will have a 20% discount on tickets. The newspaper also has a stand, with activities and giveaways.
The festival’s proposal is to offer the flagships of participating restaurants in smaller portions, so that the public can try different options. Thus, each restaurant serves three snacks from the fixed menu and another prepared exclusively for Taste. Prices range from R$20 to R$55.
In addition to the restaurants and classes offered by the festival, there are several brand stands with games, giveaways and free workshops. The options entertain the public, who parade with colorful bags from the activations throughout the event.
At Hellmann’s, when spinning an online roulette wheel, the visitor wins a sauce, a blanket, a windproof jacket or a wooden spoon. Nespresso also has a similar dynamic, with prizes that vary between doses of coffee or office items. At Casa Riachuelo, a game of lucky balls is worth a small blanket or discounts on purchases on the website.
While at PremierPet, a cat or dog food kit is distributed to those who participate in the booth experience, which includes a video tour and interaction with cats brought from an NGO. Another immersive activation is installed at Localiza, which promotes a blind tasting of ice creams from different Brazilian states. Visitors who match the most flavors win a thermal bag.
The rhythm of the party depends on the attractions that pass by the main stage, set up in a dome-shaped tent, located in the middle of the circuit. MPB, jazz and rock are part of the repertoires. There is also one traveling performance per day. This Sunday, an artist played the saxophone around the party.
Available from R$65, Taste tickets give access to the event and the common areas of restaurants and exhibitors, including lectures and classes, live music shows and DJs. Consumption in bars and restaurants is done separately, through a card that the customer carries at the event with the desired amount.
