Over three quarters of Europeans say that environmental issues have a direct impact on their daily life and health
According to a new Eurobarometer survey entitled “Attitudes of Europeans towards the environment” published today, Europeans continue to express great concern about the environment, which they see as an issue that affects them personally.
More than three quarters of Europeans say that environmental issues have a direct impact on their daily life and health. More than four out of five citizens who responded recognize that EU environmental legislation is necessary to protect the environment in their country. These results are almost identical to those of the last survey conducted in 2019, underlining how important EU environmental policy continues to be to citizens. Citizens are also concerned about the costs of pollution.
The survey also demonstrates citizens’ concerns about pollution and water scarcity, their support for the circular economy and nature restoration, and their awareness of the effects of harmful chemicals.
