The fire service of Evia has been alerted for a large fire in the area of ​​Ritsona.

According to evima.gr, the fire has broken out in a factory and strong forces of the Chalkida fire department and the prefecture’s commander, Kostas Psarros, are rushing to the scene.

Thick black smoke has covered the wider area of ​​Ritsona, as various materials are burning in the surrounding area of ​​the recycling factory which is located opposite the Papoutsanis factory.

The fire brigades have lined up along the old Ritsonas Chalkida National Road to prevent the flames from spreading to the wider area, as there are other factories. They are trying to contain the flames inside the recycling plant, where flammable materials including tires and mattresses are burning.
