Angry customers claim they were lured into buying a drink after being told sunbeds were free, but the prices for those drinks were described as ‘insane’ and ‘exorbitant’
Report on infamous DK Oyster restaurant in Mykonos did the Daily Mail which has become famous, but for a negative reason that is its very high prices.
According to this report, customers may smile when they hear that the sunbeds on the beach are free, but once they order a drink or food and get the receipt, the smile disappears.
Customers complain about its unimaginable prices. For a portion of crabs, of which there are only three, each about five inches long and a quarter of an inch wide, which consisted almost entirely of shell and was essentially… one bite, the cost comes to 121 euros, reports the report.
Angry customers say they were lured in for a drink after being told sunbeds were free but the prices for these drinks, as they commented, they were “crazy” and “excessive”.
The beachside restaurant made headlines around the world earlier this month when a holidaying Canadian couple claimed they were charged €400 (£336) for a single beer, an Aperol spritz and a dozen oysters.
A customer complained that restaurant staff told him he could get a drink and a sunbed for £29, but when his bill came he found he had been charged £72.
Another customer stated that she and her partner were charged twice, after being told that card payment was not working. Another said he was charged a bill of £253 for a sea bass and £100 for a king prawn which he said was not cooked properly. Even so, he said, he was overcharged by £789, an amount that did not match the receipt he received.
Another customer accuses the restaurant of theft and warns that “they tell you you can use a sunbed for free if you get a drink but they refuse to tell you the cost. It is 30 euros for a small, 40 euros for a medium and 50 euros for a large glass.”
This particular restaurant has been littered with negative reviews on Tripadvisor and has only received one star in the last 34 reviews that have been done, dating back to last October.
