Letter of response to the publication of the Documento newspaper, entitled: “A gruesome mistake by EFKA: They ask a dead person to prove his disability”, published by e-EFKA.

As stated in the letter, “e-EFKA faithful to its effort to be constantly next to the citizen, since 2022 has activated the sending of SMS four months, before the end of the Disability Certification Result Notification (GAPA), in order to notify them to submit an application for an extension within the deadline.

From next month (August), it is already planned to activate the necessary control process on the list of our vulnerable fellow citizens and people with disabilities, who are about to be examined by the health committee of the Disability Certification Centers.

After all, the institution has already activated the immediate cessation of the pension benefit, after the death has occurred.

Therefore, it is a familiar procedure that is planned to be implemented in the health boards as well.

The further digital upgrade of e-EFKA is already underway with the two pillar projects (Integrated Information System & digitization of citizens’ insurance life), which will fully interconnect the agency’s services, fully digitize citizen/employer transactions and provide complete interoperability with other public services.

e-EFKA has come an enviable way in the last five years, with its service and efficiency having made significant progress.

The body has 110 electronic services available to citizens, through which more than 230 million transactions have been carried out electronically.

The administration of e-EFKA, with new technologies as an ally, fights daily against bureaucratic procedures and sets its immediate priorities the elimination of unnecessary inconvenience, the gradual limitation of movements to and from local addresses and the uninterrupted service of citizens, through electronic channels.

In the context of the implementation of an integrated plan for the upgrading and smooth operation of the Disability Certification Centers for the benefit of our disabled fellow citizens, it has created the “Digital KEPA”, while proceeding to more than double the number of doctors serving in the Special Corps of Doctors of the KEPA, as well as the addition of new specialties, in order to minimize the waiting times of citizens.

The upgrade of services for citizens with disabilities is very high in the priorities of the leadership of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and e-EFKA”.
