Since last Wednesday, the fire on Mount Falakro in Drama, near the Greek-Bulgarian border, has also been burning low vegetation in an inaccessible area. Thirty-five firefighters with assistance from aerial vehicles, three helicopters and two aircraft are operating at the scene.

The number of agroforestry fires that broke out in the last twenty-four hours across the country reached 45. According to the Fire Department, of these, 31 were dealt with directly, in their initial stage, while the fire brigade is still dealing with 14.

The fire that broke out today in an agroforestry area in Philippiada of Preveza is without an active front, while the fire that occurred in low vegetation in Panagia Styra of Evia has been controlled.

In addition, a rekindling occurred at noon in a forest fire that had occurred in the evening hours of July 18, in Achladochori, Serres. According to information from the Fire Department, the course of the fire is towards the Greek-Bulgarian border, while no settlements are threatened. Ground and air forces are operating at the scene.

– A fire broke out on 15.07 in an agroforestry area in Thebes, in the Neohoraki area. The fire was controlled in 40 minutes and 26 firefighters, 1 group of pedestrians, 8 vehicles, 2 aircraft and 1 helicopter are operating at the scene. They support water bodies OTAs.

– A fire broke out at 15.19 in a forest area in Sidirokastro Serres. The fire was controlled in 2 hours and 16 firefighters, 8 vehicles and 3 helicopters are operating at the scene.

– A fire broke out at 15:54 in an agroforestry area in Philippiada, Preveza. The fire does not have an active front and 30 firefighters, 2 groups of pedestrians, 9 vehicles and 5 aircraft are working to extinguish it.

– A fire broke out at 16:34 in low vegetation in the Panagia Styra area of ​​Evia. The fire was brought under control in one hour and 26 firefighters, 1 group of pedestrians, 10 vehicles and 1 helicopter are working at the scene. It is noted that at 17:03 an informational message was issued by 112 for readiness in the area of ​​Panagia Evia.

It is noted that the local investigative offices, as well as Units of the Arson Crimes Directorate (D.A.E.E.) are investigating the causes of the fires.
