This morning, the 32-year-old woman from Chrysochori Kavala, a Muslim, was discharged this morning, who since last Friday had been hospitalized injured at the Didymoteicho General Hospital, as another incident of domestic violence.

According to ERT, visibly terrified with the scars still fresh on her body and face, disfigured and escorted by security men, she boarded the car to return to her family, her parents and 5 children.

“For three weeks he raped and beat me” she told ERT Orestiada, crying and asking for more protection because she doesn’t feel safe even with her parents. She herself had met him through the internet and decided to go to Didymoteicho to see him in person. A case file has been filed against the 32-year-old for rape, illegal detention and domestic violence, while investigations to locate him are ongoing.

The woman, last Friday afternoon, escaped from the supervision of her 35-year-old co-religionist partner, while they were walking on the street. She climbed the protective balcony of an outdoor grill, rushing to a table of patrons, desperately asking them to save her.

As one of the people who saved her explained to us, as she stated later in the Hospital, everything happened in a split second.

The 35-year-old was telling them that nothing was happening, but shortly afterwards he ran away. The 32-year-old woman was examined by the doctors without having any serious injuries and today she was discharged from the hospital.

The arrest warrant has expired for the 35-year-old man without being located, while in the next few days he is expected to receive a call from the Prosecutor who is in possession of the case file.

The 32-year-old is known to the authorities

The 35-year-old has been accused in the past of incidents of domestic violence with his ex-wife, with whom he had 5 children, but also with a partner from Alexandroupoli 2-3 months ago, on whom he physically abused. In this case, the Prosecutor had asked him to present himself to the Police once a month and this because he was recovering after a fight and a fight he had last February with his friend, for personal matters, pulling a knife, while he had seriously injured with the wooden stock of a gun.
