There was a previous complaint, according to which an employee of the EFKA, demanded 4,000 euros, for a case of payment of a disability allowance
An employee of the National Social Security Agency (E.F.K.A.) was arrested by the Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Security Forces, for bribery and dereliction of duty, while her husband is also accused of complicity in bribery.
A complaint was filed, according to which an employee of the EFKA, demanded 4,000 euros, in order to process a case for the payment of disability benefits, a fact which her husband was also aware of, who was intervening in the final settlement of the matter.
A police investigation followed, in the context of which special investigative techniques were also applied and the involvement of the employee arose, who, for her intervention and the positive outcome of the request, requested the payment of the amount of money in two equal installments.
In a police operation, which took place in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the accused was arrested in an area of ​​Athens, after receiving a pre-marked sum of money.
From the searches carried out, the following were found and seized:
- 61,850 euros,
- the pre-marked amount of 2,000 euros,
- mobile phone,
- usb stick and
- handwritten notes.
The arrested woman was brought before the competent Prosecutor.
