The fiery front burns unstoppably, which has now exceeded 30 kilometers, starting from the area of Varnavas at noon on Sunday, to reach Mount Pentelikos on Monday morning.
The messages of 112 between 04.30 and 5.45 they were consecutive: Order to evacuate Penteli, Drafi, Dioni, Dau, Ag. Spyridona, Damarasi. After the order to evacuate Penteli, the authorities decided to evacuate the Penteli Children’s Hospital as well as the 414 Military Hospital.

At 05:13 for the evacuation of residents from the settlements of Drafi, Dioni and Damarasi Rafina to Marathon Avenue, while at 05:40 for the evacuation of residents from the settlements of Dau Pentelis and Agios Spyridonas to Rafina. A little while ago at 05:45 the residents in the area of Anthousa were informed to be ready. Also, at this moment the Penteli Children’s Hospital and 414 Military Hospital are being evacuated” noted and added:
“Now there are 510 firefighters with 16 forestry teams and 152 vehicles, as well as a large number of volunteers, with the assistance of all relevant agencies. It is planned that at first light, 29 aircraft will take off in two circles.
Winds overnight remained strong creating dangerous conditions. Unfortunately, their intensity is expected to increase in the next few hours and the citizens of the areas where the fire is developing should in any case follow the instructions of the authorities”.
