Citizens, relatives of the victims, friends, proceeded in a symbolic blockade of the Bridge of the BOAK at the height of Gerani and the central road artery of the BOAK where the fatal traffic accident took place that took the lives of three young children aged 15, 18 and 20 years old, last week. local authorities, representatives of EKAV, the Labor Center and professional associations.

The blockade, yesterday afternoon, which had as its main demand of the protestors “no more blood on the asphalt” had absolute supervision and security measures by the officers of the Chania Traffic Police and the BOAK department and gathered hundreds of citizens, who with banners and slogans they asked the competent authorities to take all the necessary measures so that there are no road accidents.

A representative of the EKAV rescuers who participated in the symbolic blockade, speaking to those gathered, spoke of Chania’s unprecedented first place in fatal traffic accidents, with the blood that society has paid, as he stressed, being unbearable. He even pointed out that “… even if pillars are put in as dividers, nothing will be done, if the driving behavior and mentality do not change.
