They were unanimously found not guilty by the Three-member Court of Criminal Appeals the four defendants in the case of those reported by the MP Pavlos Polakis “22 Illegal Recruitments” in KEELPNO in the period 2013-2014, during the ministry of Adonis Georgiadis, who were tried for acts of disloyalty and complicity in it.

The judges did not accept the prosecution’s proposal of guilt of the defendants and ruled that the crime of infidelity was not established.

On the bench, in a multi-day trial that had tensions between the current health minister Adonis Georgiadis and the complainant former minister Pavlos Polakis, the ND politician, Stamatis Poulishis wife, Andronikis Theofilatouthe former financial director of KEELPNO, Ekaterini Polyzou and the former director of KEELPNO, Theodoros Papadimitriou.

According to the announcement of the decision read out by the president, the first defendant was declared innocent “since the objective nature of the crime of infidelity is not established”.

In the announced decision, it is stated that “the court considers that the drawing up and signing of the salary statements does not constitute a tortious act. Innocent and the other defendants due to the follow-up nature (in relation to the main charge of infidelity) of the crime,” said the president of the court.

According to Polaki’s complaints, the controversial recruitments “damaged the Greek State by approximately 250,000 euros and there was no legal procedure for announcing them”.

After the end of the process, Mr. Poulis stated that ten years later “the scheme collapsed”.
