Protest against mergers – abolition of departments
According to the data of the federations, hundreds of departments are merged or abolished, in violation of the current legislation and not including students who have been referred to the September examination, with huge consequences both for the educational rights of the students and for the working rights of the students. teachers.
“Departments of orientations are being abolished in General High Schools and entire fields and specialties in EPAL, even though they already fill a double-digit number of students and the registrations of post-examiners are also expected and at the same time verbal instructions are given for anti-pedagogical transfers of students to other schools”, complain the federations.
As they emphasize, “this is another attempt to degrade public education which, combined with the inappropriate and dangerous school infrastructure, the teachers who sleep in cars and tents in various regions of the country, the meager salaries of 776 euros for the newly appointed, the constant prosecutions, increasing bureaucracy and teacher burnout are disintegrating the public school at the expense of our children.”
