“In the intermediate area where the Ypsala Customs Gate and the Hellenic Customs Gate are located, a Greek vehicle driver hit and injured a motorcycle driver, who was a Turkish citizen, and later entered the area from the opposite direction and also hit a foreign truck sign at the x-ray entrance in front of the truck platform. While he was trying to get around the side of his vehicle, the truck hit the vehicle and the bars and came to a stop.”

“The driver of the vehicle in question got out of his vehicle and with a cutting tool in his hand went towards our police officers. Our officers then fired 2 warning shots into the air and after the person did not comply, they immobilized him by shooting him in the right leg.”

“The detained Greek citizen was taken to the hospital for tests and his life is not in danger.”
