Criminal prosecution for manslaughter against a member of her family, domestic dangerous bodily harm, illegal carrying and use of a weapon was brought against the woman by the New Smyrna who confessed to killing her 46-year-old brother.

The woman, who allegedly suffers from mental and psychiatric problems, was referred to an investigator to apologize, from whom she requested and received a deadline.

The sister of the 46-year-old man, who was found dead in his house in Nea Smyrni yesterday morning, confessed to her act after a long interrogation last night.

The forensic examination confirmed that the 46-year-old suffered a fatal wound to the abdomen.

According to information, reason for the fratricide it was a quarrel over a trifling occasion. “He asked me for a glass of water, we fought and I hit him with the knife. Then I washed the knife in the bathroom and put it in the sink,” he reportedly told the officers.

Yesterday initially the victim’s sister called the municipality’s social services. A social worker went to the apartment on the 1st floor on Palaiologou Street in Nea Smyrni, found that her brother was indeed dead and then called EKAV, whose rescuers found that the victim had a wound in the abdomen and thus called the Police.

In this context, the police who searched the house have confiscated knives which they found washed together with dishes, while a sample will be taken from his sister’s fingernails for any genetic material, as communication with her is difficult.

According to information, the 46-year-old left the hospital where he was being treated on Thursday and returned home.

However, an argument reportedly took place between the two brothers, which is being investigated as to whether it led to the crime.
