Tragedy occurred on Monday morning on the coast of Samos, when a plastic boat carrying 33 people sank in the sea area of ​​Agios Isidoros, northwest of the island.

According to information on the plastic boat, there were 33 migrants on board, of which 5 went ashore and three people were pulled out unconscious.

As reported by the rescued, 25 people are missing.

According to the first information, the boat sank about 150 meters from the shore in bad weather conditions. A private citizen heard voices and notified the Coast Guard.

A search and rescue operation is underway, under the Coordination of the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Coast Guard,

A floating vessel and a patrol vessel of the LS-EL.AKT., a vessel of the EOD Samos as well as a helicopter take part in the investigations.
