Five young men were sentenced to total prison terms of 12 and 15 months, with a three-year suspension, as the case may be, who sat on the bench of the Three-member Court Thessalonikiaccused of the attack with improvised Molotov cocktails, in May 2019, on an association of fans of ‘Aris, in the area of ​​Evosmos.

According to the case file, they participated in a group of about sixty hooded men who launched the attack, during which a person who was inside the association was injured. With a relevant proposal of the prosecutor, they were acquitted of the acts connected to the explosives, bodily harm and distinguished damages, while they were found guilty of disturbing the peace, violation of the law on flares and, as the case may be, possession of weapons.

“It did not emerge from the witness statements that anyone saw them throwing the Molotov cocktails, nor are the physical injuries described in the indictment directly attributed to the defendants,” said the district attorney in his motion – which was accepted by the judges -.

The defendants, now aged 27 to 31, have denied the charges, saying they did not participate in the attack.
