The relatives of the victims requested the speeding up of the clear writing of the decision of the Tripartite Court of Appeal on the flood in Mandra, in order for the verdict of the court to be judged by the Supreme Court.

In a press release, signed by the lawyers (Athanassios Kavourinos, Athanasios Oikonomou, Dimitrios Katsouras, Kon/nos Fousas and Dimitrios Skyftas), of the victims of the flood that left behind 25 dead and several injured, they state:

“The relatives of the tragic victims of the Mandra flood, today November 1, 2024, we have filed through our attorneys the attached application to speed up the expungement of the decision of the Court of Appeal, which acquitted all the accused for the death of our loved ones.

The case is now in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court, which, in view of the risk of an immediate statute of limitations, should do the right thing in order to check the legality and reasoning of the decision, which we believe is grossly unfair and wrong.

We, as relatives of the victims, will exhaust every legal means for the justice of our people.”
