An inspection of -3- brothels, in areas of Athens and Peristeri, was carried out on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, by the Directorate for Combating Trafficking and Trafficking in People and Goods of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime as part of an operation to identify victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation .
The specific brothels, one of which was “hidden” (“massage”), had been repeatedly sealed by decisions of the competent Municipalities and consequently the people employed in them were arrested for violating the seals set by the Authority.
In particular, a case file was filed against -11- women in total, while from the investigations carried out in these places, a total of -896- euros was found and confiscated.
At the same time, the competent Municipalities were informed, in order to proceed with the resealing of the shelters.
The arrested women were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office, while administrative deportation proceedings will be initiated against two of them, due to lack of legal documents to stay in the country.
