In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Attica Taxi Drivers Union (SATA) makes it clear that there will be no work stoppage for the taxi tomorrow, Wednesday 20 November.

However, it invites its members to participate in the gathering scheduled at 09:30 in the morning at the offices of SATA and in the march that will follow to the Ministry of Finance in the Constitution.

SATA’s announcement in detail:

“SATA supports the strike of the trade unions. Gathering at the SATA offices on Wednesday, November 20 at 09:30 am.

The trade unions have announced a general strike for Wednesday November 20 and are asking the government to take economic measures that will answer the whole range of problems faced by workers in all sectors.

SATA supports the struggle of workers who demand lower taxation, wage increases, collective labor agreements and the reinstatement of the 13th and 14th salary. On Wednesday morning (09:30 am) a gathering is planned at the SATA offices and a march to the Ministry of Finance in the Constitution will follow.

There will be no work stoppage for taxis, but our participation should be strong and dynamic.

On Wednesday, the vast majority of workers take to the streets and SATA’s decision was very easy. We are on their side and support their struggle.

Accuracy is killing us all.”
