The mystery behind the mysterious injury of the 57-year-old man in Paphos, who suffered a leg amputation, has been solved.

The investigators of the TAE Paphos arrested the 57-year-old injured man and his 42-year-old friend, for burglary of a residence in Anarita.

According to information from philenews, the two men broke into the residence of a 63-year-old Greek Cypriot woman last Wednesday. When they tried to move the safe from her room, due to its great weight, it seems that it fell on the stairs of the house and they abandoned it. It also appears that the fall of the safe caused an injury to the 57-year-old, since blood stains were found near the safe during the examination of the scene.

The 57-year-old was taken to Paphos General Hospital at noon last Wednesday, having suffered multiple fractures in his leg.

He was admitted to the surgery where he underwent an operation and then, due to the seriousness of his condition, he was transferred to the Nicosia Hospital, where unfortunately the doctors were unable to save his leg, proceeding to amputation.

In the case of the injured, the Paphos Medical Center was informed, which went to the Paphos Hospital for investigations and tests. According to the same information, a study of closed monitoring circuits found that the 57-year-old had been transported by someone else who left him at the Hospital and then abandoned him without giving any information.

Investigators tracked him down and arrested the 42-year-old on Thursday. The 42-year-old interrogated claimed that the 57-year-old called him and told him to pick him up from a field in the area of Pafos. From the field tests at the point indicated by the man in question, his claim was not confirmed. Instead, suspicions were raised of false information to the Police. The suspect was brought before the Paphos Court, which ordered his detention for three days.
