The prevailing slogans were “Collective agreements with wage increases, this is the answer of the workers” and “No participation in NATO the slaughterhouse”
The large strike demonstration of Labor Unions and Federations as part of the GSEE-ADEDY 24-hour strike ended peacefully outside the Parliament, a little after 2 in the afternoon.
According to GADA, more than 11,000 people participated in today’s march, while 18 arrests were made as a precaution.
The roads have been opened and traffic in the center of the capital is gradually being restored
The slogans that dominated the strike demonstration were “Collective agreements with wage increases, this is the response of the workers” and “They want Greece a war headquarters, no participation in NATO the slaughterhouse”.
Thousands of strikers demanded the signing of sectoral and operational Collective Agreements, the posting of wage increases, the adoption of health and safety measures at work.
They also demonstrated for Health and Education and “against employer and government plans and policies that level wages and rights for the profits of business groups”.
The gathering in Propylaea opened with a message from the General Union of Palestinian Workers, with militant greetings to the Greek unions.
The Union welcomed “the support and solidarity of the trade unions to the people of Palestine who are facing the genocide unleashed against them by Israel and its allies”.
In turn, in all the speeches and greetings at the rally, the demonstrators expressed their indignation at “the bloodshed of the peoples in Ukraine and the Middle East, at the involvement of Greece in imperialist plans and wars, at the genocide at the expense of the people of Palestine, for the policy that attacks the needs of the people in order to fuel NATO war spending and equipment.’
