The 46-year-old policeman was sentenced to a total prison sentence of 12 months, suspended for 3 years.

The Autonomous Single-Member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki found him guilty of the acts of insulting the sexual dignity of a work-dependent person and the illegal carrying of a knife, without recognizing any mitigating circumstances.

According to the case file, the accused officer of EL.AS. – he served as a commander in a police department in the prefecture of Thessaloniki – during a meeting in his office, in the presence of the 45-year-old complainant and three police officers, he demonstratively held a folding knife, “butterfly” type, in his hand, while he placed a mannequin on his desk molecule which he ostentatiously explored by tapping it with his hand. As the 45-year-old woman allegedly complained – through her husband – when she placed some documents on the desk, inadvertently moving the statue in question, the police officer allegedly addressed her with an obscene phrase/sentence.

During the hearing, the 45-year-old complainant was examined, who repeated what she had testified to the police. She, in fact, appeared in court as a civil plaintiff.

In his confession, the 46-year-old, with the rank of deputy police director, denied the accusations against him. Regarding the male mole dummy, he stated that he was using it in the context of training, wanting to demonstrate that this particular object can be used as a means to “pass” illegal substances or objects into detention facilities. As for the knife, he said he found it in his office when he took over as commander and did not record it due to workload to determine if it was evidence from a previous seizure.

However, his claims did not convince the court, which found him guilty. By decision of the Headquarters of EL.AS. the 46-year-old was suspended
