The mayor Andreas Kondylis spoke of a health-threatening and third-world situation – “EYDAP has not progressed the project on the pipeline for a year”
Last night, L. Poseidon at the height of Alimos was flooded due to the heavy downpour, as a result of which the traffic to Piraeus from the height of L. Alimos up to L. Kalamaki for several hours, until this morning.
According to the Mayor of Alimos, Andreas Kondylis, on SKAI radio, this situation was caused because the EYDAP sewer pipe was flooded and the cap was blown off. This resulted in sewage along with rainwater spilling onto the road surface flooding the boulevard, houses and shops all the way from L. Alimos, up to L. Kalamaki.
Mr. Kondylis spoke of a health-threatening and third-world situation in the region.
In fact, he emphasized that the central responsibility lies with EYDAP, as the project on the sewage pipeline has not progressed for years.
