For the queues of kilometers with stationary cars that were created on Christmas Day in Arachova the mayor of the area spoke, explaining the reasons for this disturbance and how they dealt with it.

And he explains how: “The traffic jam was caused by two things. It was also done by electric cars but the most important thing is that there was one roadside assistance vehicle which also closed the two currentsat the height of Livadi. Finally, Mr. Stathas points out that: “People may have suffered a little, but there are thousands of people here on the mountain, in Arachova and in the two villages. We may have been tired, but because it happened in Livadi, we had taverns nearby, everything, no one was in danger and this is the most basic of all. We got everyone off the mountain safely as 95% of them had no chains”.
