Panathinaikos left for Munich on Thursday morning (26/12) as tomorrow evening they face Bayern at the start of the second round of the Euroleague.

The newly acquired Wenien Gabriel also traveled with the mission to Germany, who declared himself blessed with this opportunity given to him, talked about his first training session with his new team, while speaking very highly of his new teammate Kendrick Nunn.

In detail:

First, Gabriel stated: “I am very excited. It’s a great opportunity. Sometimes you are blessed with these opportunities. I’m excited to be in Greece and I’m excited to wear the green.”

He then stated about his adaptation: “I’m adapting well. We had practice yesterday and played a lot of five-on-five. I played with several of my teammates already and they put me in the system. I learned some plays and some defenses. The coach is clear with what he wants from me.”

Finally, he also referred to Kendrick Nunn: “He is definitely one of the best players in Europe at the moment. He has great talent. He was a great player in the NBA as well and could have stayed there longer. I’m sure he could have come back if he wanted to in the summer, but he chose to stay and that says a lot about this organization and how well they’ve treated him. And also how much he enjoys his life here. He was one of those who told me I should have come to Europe a few years ago. I am happy that we are together again.”
