While until last year fees doubled from the first day of late payment, the new system will see tiered fines
The Ministry of National Economy and Finance reminded that December 31st is the final date for the payment of traffic fees through the MyCar electronic platform of AADE.
It is also pointed out that, as has been announced many times, this year no extension will be given to the payment of traffic fees, as for several months now the new system of graduated fines has been in effect which reduces the burden for those who pay the fees overdue within a reasonable period of time.
In particular, while until last year the fees doubled from the first day of late payment, with the new system:
– If the payment is completed by January 31, 2025, holders are required to pay an additional 25% of the 2025 traffic fee amount.
– If the payment is completed within February 2025, they will be charged 50% of the amount.
– From March 1, 2025, the amounts of traffic fees will be doubled.
It is also recalled how from this year the possibility of declaring digital immobility is provided for vehicles. This procedure exempts owners from the obligation to pay road tax for the year 2025 and this declaration must be completed by 31 December 2024 to be effective.
