Citizens’ attention is drawn by the Public Employment Service (DBA), as cases have been identified lately by strangers who claim to be calling on its services and requesting bank accounts, with the aim of obtaining personal data or money with false pretexts.

In this context, DBA informs that special attention is needed and urges citizens to read and follow the instructions below to protect themselves from deception attempts:

  • “DBA services will never request personal information by phone: You will never be asked for personal data, bank account numbers or other sensitive information, by telephone from the service.
  • Confirm the Caller’s identity. If you receive a call from someone who claims to represent DBA, do not disclose any personal information. If you have doubts, terminate the call and call DBA to the official phone number on its website or documents that have been delivered to you.
  • Do not follow links or open attachments from unknown sources. If you receive an e-mail or SMS asking to press on any link or open attachment files, do not. This is an ordinary way to access your personal accounts to access your personal accounts.
  • Find out about the official media. For any issues concerning the DBA, you can always contact us through the official communication links, published on the site (dypa.gov.gr). Any other communications from unknown numbers or addresses are suspicious. “
