The Board of Directors of the Athens Bar Association at today’s meeting decided to bring to Athens’ lawyers on a universal abstention on Monday, April 7, 2025, the day on which they will submit to the Minister of Justice George Floridis for the investigation of the Disciplinary of the Disciplinary Her interventions, while at the same time abstaining at the next meeting of the Supreme Court plenary session under the chairmanship of Mrs. Klapa.

More specifically, the SAA announcement states:

“The SAA at its present meeting and after taking into account the decision of the Coordination Committee of the Presidents of the Bar Associations of Greece, which met on 30.3.2025 decided:

  • (A) Approval of the disciplinary report against the President of the Supreme Court, in accordance with the decision of the Coordination Committee
  • (B) The organization of a joint event with the Association of Judges and Prosecutors on the issues of judicial independence in Greece, on the day and time of being agreed.
  • (C) The abstinence of its members from the next meeting of the Supreme Court plenary session chaired by the current president, in protest of its selective interventions with communication targeting.

  • (D) The universal abstention of its members on Monday, April 7, 2025, on which the Minister of Justice will be submitted to the Minister of Justice the request of the plenary for investigating the disciplinary responsibility of the Supreme Court’s president, according to Kodkdl (Law 4938/2022), for the present.‘
