The unemployed amounted to 424,575 peopledecrease by 92,985 people compared to March 2024 (18%) and an increase of 20,940 people compared to February 2025 (5.2%).

In women, unemployment amounted to 11.7% from 14.3% in March last year and men at 6.9% from 8.1%.

By large groups of ages, In the 15-24 year old group the unemployment rate increased At 25.2% from 22.7% in March 2024 and at the age of 25-74, it stood at 8.2% from 10.2%.

Also, according to ELSTAT’s workforce survey, employees amounted to 4,280,078 people, increased by 22,835 people compared to March 2024 (0.5%) and a decrease of 29,586 people compared to February 2025 (0.7%).

While people under 75 who are not included in the workforce, or “people outside the workforce” (people who do not work or seek work), amounted to 3,053,322 people, increasing by 44,889 people compared to March 2024 (1.5%) and 6,267 people in a relationship of 2025.
