With the aim of further promoting bilateral trade and investment to and from the United States the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce He opened the inauguration of his new branch in Washington. The event gathered leaders of the Greek -American community, US government officials, former and current ambassadors, interested parties and business representatives from Greece and the United States.
The new branch of the US Chamber of Commerce in the US aims to support the developing strategic economic cooperation between the two countries at a time when Greek -American relations are at a historically high level.
The new organization will serve as a permanent basis of the US Chamber of Commerce in the US, linking in a dynamic and effective way the most extroverted part of the Greek business world with US partners in the US.
As a non -profit organization based in the United States, it offers its members a hub of networking, information, business facilitation and a series of events that boost partnerships between Greek and American businesses, businessmen and non -profit organizations wishing to explore opportunities in the US and Greece.
In this context, the Agency aims to serve Greek companies and organizations trying to expand to the US market. Accordingly, it offers organizations based in the US a gateway to Greece, linking them to one of Greece’s most important and reliable business organizations that is a long -standing member of the world network of US Chambers of Commerce.
Greece’s ambassador to the United States, Mr. Katerina Nasikanoted that “The US Chamber of Commerce today is making a giant leap in the future by opening a local branch to the American capital.”
As put by the president of the US Greek Chamber of Commerce, Nikolaos Bakatselos; “With pride and purpose, we are launching our new Washington office – a bold step in upgrading US -Greece ties, strengthening economic diplomacy and supporting our members on both sides of the Atlantic.”
Finally, the executive director of the US Office, Katerina Sokouit called on US organizations and businesses to work with the Chamber on their joint mission to build a stronger economic cooperation between the United States and Greece. In this light, he noted Greece’s credibility as a credible ally and partner who is in line with US national security interests, as well as the growing role of Greek multinational and newly established US strategic sectors.
