“Although 30-35% of the soft wheat “We get it from Ukraine and Russia. There are alternative markets, such as Romania, Bulgaria, Germany and Canada, that can fill the gap.”

He clarified that in durum wheat Greece has full sufficiency, while in soft wheat our country needs an import of about 800-900 thousand tons per year.

However, most of our country is supplied by Bulgaria.

Referring to sunflower oilthe minister spoke of a virtual shortage, as he said some made unnecessary storage, mainly the people involved in the catering and while there was a normal supply in the supply chain, they took large quantities, so as a precaution the supermarkets put a restriction, ie the 5 liters per day.

That is why sunflower oil is among the products that we asked for the quantities to be inventoried, because no one can, if he finds an opportunity, speculate, stressed Mr. Georgantas.

He also stressed that there is the possibility of adding new areas and cultivating the sunflower. As he said, on Monday he will go to Evros for this reason.
