A shocking rescue took place in Epanomi Thessaloniki when a SUP man saved a father with two children.

The family lived a thriller’s moments when the father was dragged by the sea, trying to reach his children, according to Ertnews.

Vangelis Papaioannou made his hobby, SUP, at the right time at the most appropriate place, saw the three people and managed to save three lives.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon (17/08), when the father with his two children, tourists from Romania, were dragged by strong currents and risked drowning, according to Thestival.

The man who rescued them, Vangelis Papaioannou, speaking to Ertnews, referred to what happened in the waves during his successful attempt to land the three people, at a time, even in the area as a wave of strong winds.

“Because I have been a SUP for years I went to the waves. There, I found that I had forgotten the camera, so I returned to the camera to take it, I went back to the waves and that is why we have the rescue video. I went in the direction, when I heard the voices, I saw two children, who were in the water, trying to get out, were Romanian tourists. The children tried to get out, tired, they couldn’t because they were swimming against the current. He gave them a direction where to go to get out of the stream and help get on the coast. He suddenly told me one child to go to help their father, I tell him where he is, and they replied that they didn’t know why they were lost. Then, I climbed up on the board, I saw him in the background about 50-60 meters from the point we were.

I left the kids if they were well and went to their father, who was in a very bad condition, was exhausted, drank water, covering the waves.
