The Operational Infrastructure and Installations Surveillance Center of the National Electricity Transmission System in Kryoneri was put into operation by ADMIE.
In the same building, as announced, the new chemistry, telecommunications laboratory and the new technology and automation laboratory that were still based at Rouf’s premises.
The relocation of the above services is part of the broader planning of ADMIE for the optimal use of real estate and infrastructure, with a view to maximizing social benefits and rationalizing the operation of the manager. In this context, it is noted that part of the spaces released in the area was used for the development of waste transformation stations of the Municipality of Athens. At the same time, the existing high -voltage substation will be upgraded to a new closed -ended high voltage center, releasing more space in the Botanical area and contributing to the safest supply of consumers of the Basin.
The new Kryoneri manager building was formed based on the principles of sustainable architecture and bioclimatic design, incorporating technological innovations, such as advanced energy and water resource management and saving systems, as well as modern materials of high thermal insulation and sound insulation materials.
The location of the new building was selected on the basis of direct cooperation and more effective support for critical functions and interventions in the electrical system.
“The completion of this project – beyond the upgrading of the work environment – supports the strategic objective of the manager for greater efficiency, durability and digitization of the management and maintenance of the transfer system,” said ADMIE’s chairman and CEO Manos Manoukis, who will address the new mansion.
The purpose of the Operational Infrastructure and Installations Surveillance Center is to control the effectiveness and operation of the ADMIE infrastructure, sending the most important data it collects to the Digital Maintenance Control Center, which is also completed in the immediate future, in order to ensure continuous monitoring, timely maintenance.
An important tool for the operation of the Center are the systems of unmanned aircraft (drones) which, in addition to the surveillance of all transport and transport lines in Attica that began in the summer, during this year’s firefighting season also contributed to the work of Civil Protection. In particular, the information and images they collected during the fires operated auxiliary to the Single Coordinating Center for Business and Crisis Management (ESKEDIK) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, which coordinates the work of extinguishing fires across the country.
In addition, the new business center has been connected and monitored, online monitoring systems of electrical equipment and the geographical information system, to confirm and control the drones data. In the near future it is planned to integrate intelligent cameras and sensors to be placed in pillars and substations.
“The new building infrastructure places ADMIE in the top positions between European administrators in integrating new technologies and achieving the vision of smart networks to tackle the challenges of the new era, such as the growing penetration of RES and the climate crisis,” the manager said.
