The prosecutor brought criminal prosecution against the five defendants for involvement in the bloody incident that took place yesterday afternoon in Perea, Thessaloniki.

During the incident, a 20-year-old man was seriously injured and, according to information, received stab wounds to the liver and spleen, while he underwent surgery and is being treated, under guard, in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Thessaloniki.

As the police announced, it all started when a group of people, including the 20-year-old injured man, attacked the 47-year-old and his 26-year-old nephew (of Albanian origin) with sticks and bats. In the course of the incident, the 47-year-old attacked the 20-year-old and another young man, 21, with a knife, injuring the first.

The investigations by the police officers of the Department of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes Thermaikos led to the arrest of five people for involvement in the fight. They are four young people (Greeks, aged 18 to 21) and the 47-year-old.

Except for the hospitalized person, all those arrested were brought before the public prosecutor, who charged the 47-year-old with criminal affray, dangerous bodily harm, carrying a weapon – use of a weapon, and attempted murder. All respondents were referred to apologize to an investigator.
