Peugeot Sport collaborates with Capgemini to improve 9X8 digital tools

THE Peugeot Sport signed a multi – year partnership with the specialized company in Capgemini artificial intelligence to provide the Peugeot 9X8 FIA World Endurance Championship team with advanced digital tools.

Peugeot Sport is ready to return to endurance racing this summer and will leverage Capgemini data and know-how in artificial intelligence applications to promote hybrid performance Its a hypercar, both on the simulator and on the track.

Combining the digital tools capability of Peugeot Sport and Capgemini will allow the team’s engineers, drivers and other technicians to deepen their understanding of the 9X8, while also accelerating and enhancing its competitive capabilities as software development becomes a key factor.

For example, specific computing power, algorithms and artificial intelligence will complement the software developed to provide increasingly accurate power management from acceleration and regeneration. These improvements will gradually be passed on to the brand’s future mass-produced models.

Designed entirely by Peugeot Sport in collaboration with the Peugeot Style and Design Department, 9X8 has a radically new, efficient aerodynamic philosophy, runs on 100% renewable fuels and is equipped with next-generation batteries, in line with the brand’s commitment to innovative, increasingly sustainable mobility. The extreme conditions encountered in motorsport in general, and in endurance racing in particular, serve as a valuable laboratory.

Since launching the 9X8 track test program last December, the brand has focused on accelerating the car’s evolution – including the drivetrain and all-wheel drive.
